Ditching auto mode for Aperture priority

               Auto mode

You have bought your new camera, and you have been shooting in auto mode, now you have found out that there is a limit to what you can do when shooting in auto.  In auto mode the camera as total control over the settings, and automatically set the camera to what it considers to be the correct exposure. It  chooses what to focus on, what  shutter speed, Aperture and iso to use. All you need to do is point and shoot. You need a little more control over the camera settings, so you want to try another mode but you are not quite ready to use manual mode

            How does Aperture priority work

Aperture priority mode is a good starting point before learning to shoot in manual mode. it is a semi-auto mode that gives you a little more control over your settings.

With Aperture priorit  you are able to  set the Aperture and the iso to your desired setting and the camera will automatically set the shutter speed.

           Benefit of using Aperture priority

Using Aperture priority allows you to control your depth of field, because you have  total control over the Aperture, and this allows you to be more  creative.

Aperture priority is a much faster way of shooting because you set the Aperture and iso and the camera sets the shutter speed.

       Conclusion

Switching from auto to Aperture priority gives you more control over your camera. Even though is as its limitations, learning how Aperture priority works will give you a better understanding of manual mode.
